Hi Stamping Friends!
I'm sorry, but I have to stop the fun for a moment and deal with some maintenance issues...
There seems to be some problems with my blog posts not always coming into the inboxes of the people who've subscribed to receive email updates. It was brought to my attention when I stopped receiving my own emails, and now I'm wondering how widespread this issue really is. I sent out a test email that I know many of you saw, but now I'm wondering how many didn't see it. Can you help me?!
Do NOT Respond—If you're an email subscriber and are successfully receiving my emails in your inbox every day this week, please do not respond! I know most of you are receiving it, and I don't want to be inundated with emails. Thank you!
Please Respond—If you are checking my blog directly because you've not been receiving my daily posts via your email subscription...then I want to hear from you! Please contact me using the address that you have subscribed with and I will check to see if you are active.
Do You Use Feedburner or Feedblitz?—If you are a fellow blogger who has any comments about using Feedburner vs. Feedblitz for email subscriptions, I would appreciate your feedback. I tend to think the problem is that Feedburner, which is what I use, is becoming obsolete. Have you experienced similar problems? If you're using Feedblitz, how is it working for you?
I'm hoping that this is not a widespread problem, but either way, I want to get it corrected so that everyone who wants my blog updates gets them!
Thanks so much for your help and patience as I troubleshoot.
Now, back to our regularly scheduled programming...
Today's card was created by my stamping friend and team member Peggy Tassler. The card front features the beautiful flower image from the Simply Sketched Hostess stamp set. I'm so sad that this stamp set will definately be retiring once the new catalog arrives on June 2, as all Hostess sets do. Don't miss your last chance to earn it with your own workshop or private class in May!
Background Basics—The Crisp Cantaloupe background layer was die-cut with the Deco Labels Collection Framelits and embossed with the Beautifully Baroque Texture Impressions Folder. It makes an elegant backdrop to the Ovals Collection die-cut focal point.
Pieced Blooms—Peggy added some extra dimension by stamping the image twice, and hand-cutting the blooms to pop up with Dimensionals. They are colored with Crisp Cantaloupe and Pear Pizzazz inks with a Blender Pen. Very nicely done!
Easel Surprise—I didn't realize it when I first saw the card, but Peggy designed it to pop up into an easel card! Too Cool! She added a mini Deco Labels shape to the bottom of the card and a smaller Oval die-cut with an Express Yourself Hostess set (wood) sentiment. It's popped up to become the element that holds the easel in place.
I wish I would have taken better photos of the inside, too. It's layered with more Deco Labels Collection shapes that are hidden by the cover.
Framelit Border TIP—My favorite part of the card is that the cover has the Deco Labels Collection Framelit shaped border at the bottom, and it lays against a regular, squared-off back of the card. It's easy to get this look! Simply check out my Fancy Framelit Border post to see how it's done!
Easel How-To—Once you have the cover border die-cut, then you simply score across the card front at the half-way point to create the easel fold. Adhere the Deco Label shapes to the card front below the score line only, so the top of the shapes pop up when it's folded into place.
Here's another easel project with a pictorial, so you can get a visual of how it works: Easel Calendar Card.
