There are SO many things I love about this card! I love that it uses the new Vintage Vogue set and Very Vintage wheel! I love the layered look for the flowers! I love the new Scallop Trim Border punch accent and that you can earn the punch for FREE with the Sale-A-Bration promotion! I love the color combination of purples and greens! And, I love how easy it is to create!
Masking TechniqueHave you ever tried masking? I shied away from it for years, because it seemed like too much work, but it's not difficult at all. Especially for nice bold images like the flowers in Vintage Vogue. It also adds fantastic depth and realism to your stamped artwork.
First, I stamped the large flower in Rich Razzleberry. (I will be so sad when this In Color retires on June 30th. It's my favorite color—I even have it on one of my living room walls!) Then I stamped the same flower on a Post-It note and cut it out, just slightly outside the edges of the petals. This becomes your mask.
You lay the mask flower over the top of the stamped flower to cover it. The sticky on the back helps to keep the mask in place. Now, you can stamp the smaller flowers (I used Perfect Plum), so they overlap the large flower without harming your large flower image.
Here, I've shown the large flower covered with my Post-It mask, and I've already stamped my little flowers. Before I stamped the vine image, I used masks on the small flowers, too. On my card, I stamped the leaves after masking off all of the flowers.
That's it! You peel off the masks and it looks like your little flowers are peeking out from behind the big one! The best part is after you cut out your masks once, you can save them and use them again and again! If you need more "sticky" on the back, you can add a bit of repositionable adhesive. I usually put any masks I create right in the case with the stamp set—easy to find!

Other Card DetailsI wheeled Very Vintage in Rich Razzleberry over the Perfect Plum card stock, added a scallop trim border in Whisper White, and tied an Artichoke 1/4" grosgrain ribbon around the piece before adhering. The focal image is layered on Rich Razzleberry card stock. I used the Paper Piercer and Piercing Template to add some detailing before adhering it with Dimensionals.
Here is another version using the "friends" image from the same set. If you look closely (click to enlarge), you can see that I should have done some masking on the "F" so the vine images didn't show through. Masking always makes this kind of layering look better!
Stamp with you soon! ~Angie
