Here's another scrunchy flower that's perfect for the holiday season—a poinsettia! Last year, at the end of the Christmas season, I saw a card combining this pretty paper flower with the Petals-A-Plenty Impressions Folder and I knew I had to try it this year.
Poinsettia Flower: I used the 5-Petal Flower Punch to punch out three flowers in Cherry Cobbler and one in Old Olive. Spritz the red shapes with water and scrunch into little balls, then, unfold and stack them on the green "leaves" base. Pierce the center with a Paper Piercer and add a brad. I added three Rhinestone Jewels to the center, with one covering my brad. You can see how to do fuller scrunched flowers here.
I love the Olive and Cherry colors in the Jolly Holiday Designer Series Paper—it's kinda traditional, with a bright, fresh twist. The stripes and dots and circles, large and small, look fabulous on all kinds of holiday projects!
The Tasteful Trim Die was used to create the big scallop border. And the Cherry Cobbler Seam Binding ribbon adds a nice splash of color to offset the flower.
Funny, the only stamping on this card is the sentiment! I used a stamp from Heard From The Heart.
