My niece, Ellie, has her First Communion tonight, so it gave me the opportunity to try out a cool cross idea I found using the Lattice Bigz Die...
I'm always excited when I discover a new, unexpected use for one of my stamping tools! I recently learned that by trimming off parts of the Lattice Die, you can create a beautiful and delicate cross that's perfect for First Communion, Confirmations, Weddings, Baptisms, even sympathy cards. Brilliant!
Card Details: The background Very Vanilla layer is embossed with the Elegant Bouquet Impressions Folder, then sponged with Crumb Cake ink.
I layered the cross on some die-cut leaves from the Little Leaves Sizzlit, so it still had the feel of a rose lattice. I love the vintage look of the Chantilly Crochet Trim bow under the Vintage Flower Adornment.
Did you see what I did on the Rose Adornment? I made it a gilded rose! I used a VersaMarker to add VersaMark to the edges of the rose, then dipped it in Gold Embossing Powder and heat-set with the Heat Tool. I love this ultra-vintage look!
But remember, the Vintage Flower Adornments are only avaible until the end of the day TODAY—this is your last chance to try gilded roses!
After assembling the entire card, I thought it needed a little shimmer, so I spritzed it with Vanilla Frost Smooch Spritz.

What a lovely card! It's so pretty as a communion card or Easter card. And I believe it will be appropriate to send to my brother who is battling cancer. Thank you for your inspiration!! And I have this die...haven't used it in a long time.
